Latest individual samples: Secchi 6.5 ft (2026-07-07), chlorophyll-a 7 µg/L (2020-08-17), and total phosphorus 18 µg/L (2020-08-17).

Secchi clarity is how deep a black-and-white disk stays visible from the surface — more feet means clearer water.

Chlorophyll-a is an algae pigment; higher values signal more algae in the water column.

Total phosphorus is a nutrient that feeds algae and aquatic plants. It is not a weed survey — depth, bottom type, water movement, and management change the actual lake experience.

Management contextLake-specific 2024 comprehensive survey across early/late spring fyke netting, walleye recapture electrofishing, bass electrofishing and fall gamefish sampling.

DNR found a low-density stocked walleye population with strong growth and size structure, low pike and bass abundance, recovering panfish populations and abundant aggregate bullhead.

  • Two method dates are printed as 2025 inside the 2024 report; those dates are excluded and metric scopes retain only unambiguous 2024 survey context.
  • The report gives conflicting totals of 190, 181 and 181 different adult walleye across sections; only the explicit 190-fish size-structure sample is retained, while sex-share calculations tied to conflicting denominators are excluded.
  • Transferred/stocked fish counts and historical comparators are not relabeled as 2024 survey catches.
